How Does St Gabriel’s Church of England Primary School Support pupils with SEND?
St Gabriel’s Church of England Primary School is a mainstream school however we are able to accommodate children with a range of additional needs. We aim to support pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities through first quality teaching with additional interventions, modifications and/or adaptations used to remove barriers to learning and to ensure that good progress is made. To do this, pupils are tracked and monitored regularly across the curriculum.

Following each assessment period, the attainment & progress of pupils are discussed during pupil progress meetings with actions being taken where necessary to support learning further, or to develop a further understanding of the child’s needs. For example, a request could be made for support or an assessment to take place from a specialist/outside agency or an intervention programme to be implemented.

At any point during the school year, the school SENDCo is available to discuss the attainment and progress of any pupil who has been identified or showing signs of having a disability and/or special educational need.
